How to get total size of panel in nesting?

Unread post by PrafulGaikwad » Sat Jul 13, 2019 9:13 am

Hi,
Can we get panel size including edge banding in Nesting.
i.e. I am using 500 x 500 mm panel with edge band thickness of 1 mm per side. means the size of panel is now 498 x 498 mm.
So, when we do nesting panel appears as 498 x 498 mm only.
but I want 500 x 500 mm, because we cut 1 mm panel on edge banding machine before applying edge band.
Looking for some help with this issue asap.

Hello

It's not possible. I had same badass situation and we were veryvery angry to Missler, because this edgebanding solution is 20 years old.
You have to 2 options:
1) When You use edgabandings, then untick "use tools" box. It's shown here: https://youtu.be/5y--d1GPAms?t=81 (he is using Edge shape command, not Panel)
Bad thing is when You don't use tools, then section view is wrong, because edgebanding is inside the panel.

2) Use 0.01mm thick edgebanding. Then Your nesting will cut 499.99mm and it's same as 500mm. Anyway tolerance in wood industry is over 0.1mm, then 0.01mm doesn't matter. We used this way.

Anyway please send this notification to Missler too, maybe they fix it in some years.
