I was wondering if there is a way to put multiple components downloaded from the Cad database from häfele together, like a pot hinge and its mounting plate so i can paste them in just like the standard versions already in TopSolid'wood. Currently i have 2 seperate components, that have no connection to each other.

not sure to understand the issue.
Add a key point in each file, and reassemble in a new document.
if you want more automation you can parameter the mounting plate thickness based on the reveal value to drive for the door.
if you are lucky the defaut position of the HAFELE data may allow you to create the key point in the 0 absolute position ( like the BLUM components )
You can always use points 'center key point' then 'middle point' and add a coordinate system on a point to your middle point
(thats what I do with some hardware that doesn't have co-ordinates like Blum Hinges
It's more easier than expected. Hinge and plate both have coordinate systems, but they are not visible in realistic render more. Use some shadings or wireframe and put both coordinaate systems together and thats it. Sometimes! there are some errors like hinge and plate are not in center line, then you have to use transformation to put them into right line.
