top.cfg group vs. config, who's the boss?
As I understand it, by default TS looks at the group top.cfg, and then overrides it with the config's top.cfg settings to adjust the company settings with personal preferences. Yet I am told (by our reseller's consultant) that there are settings for wich the group's top.cfg settings are forced.
Is this correct? In that case I am looking for documentation describing for which settings this is the case.

Re: top.cfg group vs. config, who's the boss?
As much as I know there is no documentation for that case. I had several issues with Planner. Sometimes material data just went off from projects and I figured out that I had material info in local and in group folder. I put all material information into one group file and deleted local file data (not file, just data). Then it worked well. In config files not so much data what to keep in group files. I prefer to keep cfg data in local folders, because anyone can make bad movement and then all users are in trouble. It's very sensitive thing.

What you say is right!
However some documents are pushed from the Group to the Config.

Remi, are you saying there are no exceptions to this?

Whatever is in the group top.cfg will overwrite the local config top.cfg.
on a side not not every .cfg file is compatible with the group function as far as I know there is no list of witch files work with the group function and witch do not I have just used trial and error by copy paste them into the group folder and see if the help>> configuration shows its use.

Re: top.cfg group vs. config, who's the boss?
so what I gather is this
- group top.cfg gets read first
- then config top.cfg gets read, and it overwrites group top.cfg settings that are also in the config's top.cfg
- for some settings (and no one knows for which and/or how many) this is not the case
- workings might differ for different .cfg files
