[Solved] convert files

Hello

How do you convert older TopSolid files to newer TopSolid, Like if you using 2007 and want to convert to 2008?
or visa-versa

You should be able to just open and work with them in the newer version...

I could be wrong but I think with TS version 7 you won't be able to use your old files at all...

Oops... yea, I meant to say converting files from 2007 or 2008 to TopSolid 7
and also what about designing in 7 and bringing that work into cam for 5 axis machining.
I'll get with sales before I load 7

Once TS7 Cam is released (soon I think) I am sure you'll be able to integrate seamlessly between design and cam in TS7...

But for now I guess you'd have to design in TS7 and export as parasolid then open it with TS6 cam...

I'd be interested to hear what your salesman says about using older files...

TopSolid V7 has an interop to take files back to V6 platform, also you can take your files from V6 into V7 but you will have a loss of logic on many features, however V7.3 has ways to add this logic back into some of the parts, TopSolid V7 cam is slated for release with 7.4 later this year.

Hi

you can also use the TopGMI conversion with TS 7. This way you can update the files exorted from 7. So when you change a TS 7 file you don't have program it all over again, like with parasolid exchange.
I 've tried this in the 7.3 (about to be releases) and this works nice.
