Creating Custom Components with Multiple Tooling

I tend to do a lot of work in creating custom components (a very useful tool) and I was just wondering when you have multiple tools (for subtracting and etc.) is it possible to automatically set tooling to activate or deactivate for different codes (as in with the .xls document) maybe with a true/false statement in .xls (1/0)?
