[Solved] Opening Solidworks Assemblies?

Unread post by Jonathan »

Is there a way to open Solidworks Assembly files (xxx.SLDASM) in Top Solid? I can open most individual solid files but haven't been able to open any assemblies.

As far as I know you can not do this in TS.

My other software does have this ability so if you need help with a particular file, e-mail the .sldasm and everything that goes with it and I'll send you a parasolid.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind, this time I have all the individual files and assembled them one at a time. Sometimes I only get the .SLDASM files and then I can only look at them in the eDrawings viewer.

Hi,

normally it should be able, but you need the spatial translator. This interface is able to read Assemblies from Solid Works.
What can you do?
Ask your TopSolid Dealer for that Spatial Translator, please note you need a license to use this interface.
After installation you can choose between two interfaces for Solid Works.
Regards.
