Updates

Why does TopSolid stop working when no updates are applied?
Currently my TopSolid 7.6 is NOT working because I cannot connect to licenseserver. This is being caused by the update software which is UNABLE to update because the server is unavailable!
Why make such important thing so fragile?
Missler cannot afford to let us not being able to use the software simply because they have problems with their server.
This costs us thousands of euros a day.
Please fix the updateserver ASAP, or send the updates to me by cd-rom or another method.

But only the update is off for the moment, why are you not able to work with your 7.6??

Because my TopSolid 7.6 cannot get licenses from the licenseserver!
I had the same problem once with 7.5 which was solved after I applied the latest updates, I was then able to connect to the licenseserver again.

Other people on my department wich are working with 7.5 can still work and connect the licenseserver.

Please give me acces to updates.
Or is there somebody who can upload them to our FTP server?

edit:
A clean 7.5 install also is not able to get licenses from licenseserver (maybe sentinell problem?)
An upgraded 7.5 install works without problem.

Hi,

But let me understand...Your licenses are on your own license Server, why do you need the FTP to get an access to your 7.6??

Do you try to ask for any bypass to your local support?

I just uninstalled everything to try to reproduce but run in another problem.
When installing 7.5 (because 7.6 cd-rom is on another location) the software want me to upgrade to 7.6 because database is too new.
How do I delete old database?

Edit:
Found out, delete c:\TopSolidPDM
Currently importing libraries.

Edit2:
Reinstalled 7.5 but it remembered the server settings so probably not everything was deleted.
The software doesn't have a problem, it works. Maybe sentinell updates are still applied?

I'll now try to install and run 7.5 on a clean machine.
I will update this post after install.

Edit3:
I just installed official (no trial) 7.5 version on a clean XP machine.
TopSolid is NOT able, I repeat, is NOT able to get licenses from the licenseserver.
An updated version of 7.5 *IS* able to get licenses.

I'm currently not able to test thist with version 7.6, but I am sure it works the same.


I think I have proven my point now.
Please make the updates available on another machine so that I can download them manually.
