TopSolid 7 cam

Unread post by solidsnake »

1° in the processing "side milling"
how to enter the start and end point to work? the limits?
because the cam follows the rough beyond the area or the face to work
2° place as brackets and pitfalls to be avoided in the cam ?
3° how to manage the movements of the head on various surfaces inclined
and opposite to avoid collisions?
the security box work?
if I send pictures I will try to explain better
thanks

HI there, I have posted the answers to your questions below.

Answer - There are two questions here...the first answer is: There is a pop up balloon when you edit the operation. This balloon is a "Quick settings" balloon. If you double click on the second to last line, you will be given the dialog box to edit the lead in/out start and end points.

And the second Answer is: Click on the Settings button to access the full operation settings dialog box. Then go to the "Lead in and out" tab in the dialog box. From there, there is an option checked called "Stock Escape". Remove this check mark and your tool will now plunge directly on the stock. If you leave it checked, your plunge point will always be outside of the material automatically!.

2° place as brackets and pitfalls to be avoided in the cam ?

Answer: Today the only way I know how to handle this in 2d milling would be to either directly create the profiles to machine, or create the solids/sketchs that represent the brackets and then modify the approach and exit point as descrived in question 1 above.

3° how to manage the movements of the head on various surfaces inclined
and opposite to avoid collisions?
the security box work?

Answer: I believe here you are looking for the same controls/functionality as you had in v6 using the F4 function. If that is the case, just right mouse button click on the operation that you want to modify in your operations manager, and go to "Link Movements". Here you should find what you are looking for.

if I send pictures I will try to explain better
thanks
