Micromilling file format

Unread post by RdG »

Hi all,

I have a question. We are trying to micro-mill some small part of 30x30mm. But TopSolid becomes very slow and very unpleasant to work with. We are asking for high accuracy, very small depth of cuts etc. We are looking for a solution to this problem.

We are thinking about changing the 3d file format. We are currently using .stp files to import the solids. But is there a preferred 3d file format which is the best for TopSolid? Maybe parasolid?

Kind regards,

Roel

Hello,

i really do not think that the file format will have a different result.
Do you try to use the part simplification? If the parts have holes maybe this will help.
