Is there a taper tool?

Unread post by Robert »

Is there a taper function for the 'Pipe" tool. I would like to taper the end of a wrought iron baluster. If there is not a taper tool can anyone give me an idea of the work flow to create one.

Thanks

Hi Robert,

I am not sure to understand your problem, but i think that you can use the chamfer tool, choosing the option lenght+angle.

Hello,

The attached file shows how I would approach the situation.

I created a spline similar to your pic.

Then I created coordinate systems "on curve & point" at each end of the spline and also at the transition point between straight & tapered.

On each coordinate system I created a circle of the desired size and finally used the circles and spline to create a swept shape.

Hope this helps.
