Symple mirror

Unread post by MadCat »

Hi
Why the simple mirror through the coordinate system doesn't work correctly?
I shouldn't use a coordinate system as a symmetry plane with the simple mirror?
Here is the video to show it.

Your mirror CS is placed on a point relative to the ACS. When making a driver block you should never make anything connecting to the ACS. Anything you connect to the ACS will be reconnected to the ACS of the model you include it in.

Try to make your mirror using the housing frame.

Hello

Is the coordinate system that we see the current one?
Can you display the "entities" tab for us to see what coordinate systems you have?

Hello,

It seems that the CS you are using for the mirror ends up somewhere else after inclusion then you want it to, causing the mirror to behave unexpectedly. This could be because you use a broken CS as reference and not the CS at the center of your driving block.

Make sure you are selecting the correct CS. It is a safer method to set the desired CS as current and then selecting the plane you want using the buttons in the top bar rather then clicking a CS in 3D space.

If you are unsure what happens or why, its also a useful tip to include your driving elements in your assembly and see where they end up after insertion of the item.
Right click on you assembly in tree and select insert, after that click on any sketch, CS, curve or block you are using as driving element and confirm with ok. You can then see what they do after inserting so you can see what happens that you don't want.

Ok, I set CS as current and include it in the assembly. It seems so simple, but it's still hard to understand for me why it mirrors outside the driver block.
