neutral mode
Hello
Can you tell me, please, what "neutral mode" does?
It has no help and I don't see to do something visible.
I have TopSolid 2019 v6.20.248.1-sp12
Thank you.

Hello,
Neutral mode basically means "no other function active" if you are working within a function like extrude for example and you click neutral mode it shuts down extrude for you. Similarly to the esc button on the keyboard.
In addition to that being in neutral mode or "no function" mode it allows you to click on items and get some suggested functions like woody explained before me.
So to summarize: neutral mode is not a function in itself is closes all other functions of the program you might still have active.

Re: neutral mode
Hi
when neutral mode is active ( icon ) or press esc.
if you clic on something like :
the background
a face
an edge
a curve
on a face
a coordinate system
a text
..
..
the software suggest you a command
this is very usefull in CAD and even in CAM.
inclusion of component, bloc constraint creation , assembly kits, manage visibility and much more
if you have improvement ideas suggest them..

Re: neutral mode
Hi Woody
I don't really understand: it has to activates / de-activates something like a contextual menu?
I've always had those contextual options and it seems very logical to be like this (I previously worked in Catia where contextual menus are something very well implemented and extremely useful)
I don't see any difference between my 2 photos (in fact, I'm not really sure that the button is activated or not)

The difference is quite anecdotal, but there is a slight difference between "Neutral mode" and "Esc"when neutral mode is active ( icon ) or press esc

Hello,
2 reasons really, i have an incredible retailer for TS. They sell the product but have an incredible knowledgeable helpdesk too. The other reason is that im one of those people who just goes function by function, clicks it and thinks ooooh what does this button do.

Re: neutral mode
I find that some 'buttons' are not linked to any HELP documentation.
If you press F1 after clicking a menu button, the help should populate your screen.
However with 'neutral mode' = File not found.
