I try to mitre cut between straight and bended shape...

I allreay followd the manual by doing the following:

Menu access: Assembly | Define component | Define bended component

Description:

Allow to use the mitre cut function on bended shapes.

General philosophy :

Select the bended element to add the properties.

Select the key curve (it's axis).

Select the first key face ( plate face at the end of the bended shape).

Select the seconde key face ( at the other end).

... after this it still does not compute the mitre cut correctly.

Any help?

I posted this question many years ago, about mitering on curved molding, I don't know if it is relevant now.

Hello

When you mention bent shape, do you mean simple bending like the picture attached?
it's a géometrical driver ( here in 6.22 because there is a new feature that allows cut in multiple bodies)

you create a geometrical driver with the wood function, then with the bent part function in assembly you tag the bent faces.
This should be enough.
it may also work in previous version of TopSolid ( for one body )Image

This is normal behavior, I had the same problem. Other 3d programs have similar problems. You can add different key-points or start your curve from another positioning.

when you have trouble placing the item you should try and place it on a curve rather then on a sketch. every line has a certain direction depending if you draw it from left to right or vice versa.

i have made a video about it but the forum found the file to big so here is a wetransfer.

Also the CS is flipping depending on when it's straight or curved, see video: https://youtu.be/WXLmXJlVUpE

When using 6.22 the problem of the rotating coordinate system is solved :D
