matrix propagation issues

Hello

When I try to design a perforated sheet of metal, a simple file with many holes becomes 480 times greater in file size on disk than the file without holes. The simple file has 13.5KB (only a rectangular piece) , the one with 4356 holes has 6.48MB.

Even if I work on a pretty powerful machine, the program becomes to operate slow and the pan & zoom movements are not smooth at all

What can I do to avoid the file this dramatic size increase?

Thank you

Thank you, Todd.

It really helped me.

But it's really strange for a software manufacturer to know that it has a software optimization issue prior to version 2014, to release a version (2014) with a pseudo-correction of that issue (what if I really need to drill all those holes on a panel and not just to draw it or to use any other shape than a circle?) and to release future versions (I have version 2019 - 6.20.244) without any improvement for this issue.

It's frustrating to own a powerful computer and a poor software which doesn't know how to use all this power.
I previously used CATIA for several years and it surely don't have such stupid limitations.

It will be a nightmare to design things which contains patterns

I hope that someone from Missler reads all this posts from time to time, since, after all, all those discussions and issues are hosted on their website :) LOL

Yeah well its probably another reason why they are moving wood module to version 7 next year better core program.

Last year I did som test with it, but correct me if I'm wrong Todd, when Ghost Drilling is set to Yes or 1 (no viable drilling) I thought that CAM still can see the tool process.

CAD_73: my colleague from the factory made this test today: no matter of how the "ghost" parameter is set, the CAM still "see" the holes.
