The coordinate system that is normally visible in the left bottom corner is no longer there but only in one drawing.
is it possible to turn this of and on?

Just try to clarify what your asking about the compass or the coordinate systems?

try go to tools options compass also this may be the same bug I experiences where it disappears with large sized assembly's example model of a house

The problem is only with one drawing that i can't currently open to try but at an other the box of displaying the compass is checked. it does look like we have the same bug since it suddenly disappeared in one heavy assy. if you hear of a solution to that let me know. thanks for your tip of where to turn on and off the compass.

Perhaps in the document properties in stead of Tools>Options

As I see, it might be a bug. I have same issue when working with big projects. Zooming in and out will show compass sometimes.

Is correct Raud. With turning it slowly disappears. In other words only at an certain angle it's visible as if there is something in front of it.

Quazoosl Couldn't find anything there.

i have the same problem some times. switching to one of the standard views (like top view) always makes it come back though. assuming of course you didn't turn it off in the options yourself .

there also the status bar to check I forgot about that spot
