Hello
Is there any way to tie coating and finishing to the driver, for each his own.
Does anyone have any ideas.

Re: driver coating and finishing
I assume you don't want to use the catalog function to do this? or if you don't know about this I would suggest using the catalog to do this.
example below: Name the part to change then "."(property to alter)
Tube.refrencence
Tube.coating
Tube.matter

To bad you're still running 6.19
6.20 provides a new catalog editor

you could also use a named text and make the text driver. then when you insert you component you can just type whatever you want to fill your properties with

Hello
thanks everyone for the answers
Todd
drivers in catalog work as one
they can be divided
can you give an example
Laurens
do you mean Tols-Text-Formatted Text-Coting?
I do not know how to make a driver from the text with which I can
work in subsequent assemblies up to the final project.
can you give an example

Re: driver coating and finishing
i'm sorry what i said was not quite correct. yes you can make a text driving but it's not possible to make it control the material.
i'll explain how to make a text driver though, who knows it might come in handy.
place a text via tools-text-type something easy to recognize like finish or something. place the text somewhere in your 3d space.
then name the text via edit-name, and name it something logical. then go to assembly-define component-define drivers and click the text.
your text is now driver. should you add it to your properties or designation you can add something per component as you insert it. i used it on a bending mould item we use. for production we add an identification code to it. you can type it in as you place the item.
