Drive Blocks?

When I create a driver block and add a few components to it and insert into a new block it always works. But when I start adding drivers to components, translations and repeat part function they always fail when I try to insert the driver block into a new document block. What could cause that and can you use "Repeat", "Translation" function in driver blocks.

Thank you

Did some test with translation and a repeat in a driver block, works perfect here.
Can you share your file or make some screenshots.

Also... what version are you using?

Attached is an experimental shelf driver block that failed, I get the "unable to make component" in the alpha bar.

Thank you

Hi there.

Looks like it works fine. Maybe You don't have paralleel planes for projection or something is missing in project (sometimes CS is in wrong direction). You can test it Yourself. Create new file, make driver block and put component into it as Inside block and play with this.

I figured it out with your help guys, thank you.

I have a large old library of components that I developed with drivers and key points, and now I'm going to tactical remaking a lot of the components with driver blocks. How many have had to recreate your component library with driver blocks? Any tips or suggestions when creating this new library of components? What is your favorite feature with driver blocks?

I am almost new user and I grew up with DB :) But I really like double wrap DB. I have lot of thing in DB - handles, hinges, drawers, doors, floor unit legs etc. Handle component is "inside block" and I can add handles with one click per drawer. DB is very powerful tool :)

Here is door sample: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNSJJpCEXws
With this it doesn't matter how thick sides are, door gap is always same. Red arrow is inside cabinet and yellow arrow outside.

what version TS are you on? I have double wraps but I don't get the same results when I modify a driver block

At the moment I don't have active TS :( I have demo 6.18 and I am just reading forum and help as much as I can. But, that video is 5y old and I think You have to chose that double wrap when You are creating new DB.

nothing has changed
if you create a regular driver block, (on my machine) you cannot edit it and turn it into a DW driver block as in the first video.

the first video shows the edit of an existing Driver block
the second video shows the creation of a new DW driver block.

You're right, that has indeed changed, You have to do it at the start :!:

I guess I still don't know how to make clean driver blocks that work right. Attached are two files a simple case & a drawer front and I'm trying to insert it in the bottom opening and I keep getting "invalid element", "unable to make component" does any know where I possibly went wrong in the creation of the driver blocks.
