Hi Everyone,
I am wondering if there is a way to import .dxf, .dwg, .skp models into TS without smooth faces instead of all the facets that currently show up? I know that you can use "smooth" to clean up faces but this is extremely time consuming. Has anyone come up with a good way to make use of these models? Most of what I want to importing are models of furniture, appliances, or sinks/plumbing fixtures to add to my cabinetry models and I want them to show up on the draft sheet as well. Attached is a screen shot of what I typically get when I do an import, tons of facets across all the model faces.
Thanks,
Ken

Hey Ken,
STEP files are the best.
I use Grabcad a lot. Usually renders pretty good too.

The grabcad site is a great resource. Thanks for the tip! I am still wondering if there is a way to use the other file types since unfortunately most of the plumbing and appliance manufacturers used in projects we work on only have .dwg .dxf and sketchup files. The sketchup files seem to have smooth faces when opening in sketchup but not when opened in TopSolid.

If you have the render option, the models smooth out. This is a .dwg straight from the GE website.
This is the same .dwg rendered in TS

@Chad, thanks! We don't currently have the render package but we are looking at adding it in the future so that is good to know.
