Anyone have any tips/documentation for working with predefined drafts?

Press Predefined Draft then F1

Short version: Make a library model and a draft of that same library model.
Save the draft in the same library path.

Then place the library model press Predefined and click the component accept the scale.

Thank you for the reply. I read the help file, did not get this to work. Youtube link looks promising. Will try without multi-draft first, perhaps that will make a difference.

My goal is to use several predefined drafts in a multi-draft.

So, I have the sub-component shelf.top, which is in a propagation in shelves.top

I only seem to be able to make a draft directly of shelf.top using the predefined draft command.

Using predefined draft on the shelves.top does not work, same goes for using multi-draft on shelf.top directly.

Eventually I'd like to make drafts of multiple components using a combination of multi-draft and predefined-draft functionality.

Although you can use insert and do other kinds of tricks on predefined drafts, I think that predefined drafts are meant to be used on almost ready assembly models, like my furniture demo.

Why not use a template and prepare the template with al views and filters that you want. Take a look at this simple set up: https://youtu.be/s-60Kvx9kfM

The idea is to use one drawing for the finished part, and one drawing for each of the components. This way it is super clear what the dimensions/material/edges need to be for each component. If it is possible to use predefined drawings for each part this would be easy because we would only have to make one drawing per library part.

Looks like You like to get something what TopSolid dont offer. It's not possible to make views-sections of product + detail drawings automatically into same document. Make a good predefined draft with views, BOMs and sections and when it's done, then generate detail drawings with multidraft template.

That would be a shame. To me it seems like the functionality is there, and if it is possible to combine it this would make my life a lot easier.
