[Solved] Setup sheet - no views

Unread post by digital »

Hi all,

I wanted to customize my setup sheet and tried to see how ready-made templates work with projecting my part in 2d but with no result.

Attached you can see that my cam part was not projected.

This is the same with every template that came with TopSolid'Cam.

Any suggestions as to what may be wrong?

Thanks!

Hello

You've got to to import them manually

Cheers

Hi Remi,

Thanks for the reply.

However, this type of automatic projection works when creating electrode drafts from topdesign. Are you 100% sure that it has to be done manually?
Maybe there is just a minor bug or something that needs to be configured?

Cheers

Use the Insert function to fill in the views

Unread post by Bill »

Hey Digital,

Use the insert function, (icon in system icon bar that looks like a hammer), to fill in the views. Select the main view, then select the part that you want to project.

On a side note, did you know that you can insert tool path into projected views as well? To do this, go to the edit pull down menu in CAM and select group. Now select the tool path that you want to create a group for. Now in draft, when you insert a view into your setup sheet, you can select your tool path!

Thanks Bill!

I didn't know that I could use the toolpath in my views! This is a great tip, should be very useful.

Too bad that cam setup sheets cant automatically make projections like topelectrode drafts do. Maybe in some future versions ;)

Thanks again for the tips Bill and Remi.

do you know what to do to get the remaining stock on the part to show in the setup sheet? I hope it's not by redrawing it or by using "solid from stock" from the part/stock menu?

how to get the part zero to show too?

sub-question; in what cases do you use the "solid from stock" function?
