I have a template file with all of my most common tools stored in the "tool changer". One of these tools is a "face mill."
If I create a facing toolpath (for example topologic facing) and get to the tool selection window the filter is always turned on and has available:
1. End/Side face mill
2. End Mill
3. Rough end mill
Why would "FACE MILL" not be selected in the filter automatically ? Is it unlikely that somebody would face with a face mill ?
Is there a way to modify what type of selections are available by default in the filter ?
Is there a way to make the filter NOT ACTIVE by default ?
It seems like every operation I create I am turning off the filter so I can see the tool I want to use. A filter is a nice idea but so far is rather useless.
In TopTool please use the menu Cutting conditions|Feedrate, now select milling. A list with all milling functions appears. You can select facing. In the next window you select Tool and here you can add the tool types which will be suggested when you create a facing.
I don´t know why this is in french in your TopTool. When I run TopSolid in English, everything in TopTool is translated.
You can try this:
In TopTool use the menu Configuration|Dictionary, click on Execute a procedure and choose the file translator.wgl.
Maybe your french menu will be translated into english afterwards?
