[Solved] How do you create your fixtures?

Unread post by Francois »

I'd like to know how you create your tooling/fixtures to clamp your workpiece?

a particular case where I had problems was when I had a fixture to draw between my workpiece and another "universal" tooling (a small table) clamped on a 4th axis.

I tried drawing the fixture "around" my workpiece in the workpiece .top file.
Than I tried the "store as" function but seem to have lost some associativity (even with the "none" option to basify the piece)
I guess in some cases I could draw it in the .cam file but it doesn't seem to be the way.

what would be the best way? or is it a case by case situation?
Thanks

Hi

Yes, It's always a pain in the butt for such things.

Otherwise, try to create it as an assembly, clamps and all that stuff may be created as components.
