trimming return pins
my return pins won't trim up to the surface. I have 6 return pins and was able to trim only 1 out of 6. I dropped a ucs at the center and depth of where I wanted to trim and used plane as my option of trimming. 1 worked and the others didn't. Now I tried making a line and trim it and still. the error I get reads "cyclic reference between elements". Can someone help with this?
You get the other options by selecting a different pin.
I assume you have 4 return pins. One of those is the defined pin and the other 3 are "cluster shapes".
Select the one correct pin to edit and you will be able to see the option I recommended.
Actually, after playing around for a minute...
You can get to the correct menu from under the "cluster shape".
Click the + next to cluster shape.
Then Right-click on the "Mold Component". This is your original pin and you will now be able to select the trimming option.

Larry,
I do not have trim option in like this person has in my menu (I tried all 6 pins individually). I also already tried trimming by plane. and I have 6 return pins in which only 1 out of 6 trimmed. I don't really get it because the menu tree tells me that I propogated these pins but yet it will only allow me to trim one. I tried deleting it and putting new ones in now and now it says I don't have a shape to trim to.

I have made all my return pins individually and tried everything we have discussed so far but they all didn't work. I have had others attemp as well so I'm not sure if it may be a possibility there is something worng with my block. I will be bringing in a new Parting line some time today so I will see if that fixes anything. Thanks for your help

Pin parameter
Another way is
You could modify the length of the pin (to be same distance as KO to PL) inside the compo parameter, but you have to be careful with the reamed portion, it star allways from the original lentgh
