How to remove groves from surface?

Hello, I would like to remove these grooves from my toolholder model (imported) in order to simplify it. Usually I use a function Surfaces>Removing>(type=faces, Healtype=Cap) but here it does not work. Could anyone please suggest how to remove these grooves such that the constant diameter cylinder i...

Re: What is "Shank Maximal(Minimal) diameter"?

Hi Remi Do you mean that "shank min/max diameter" actually refers to the *INNER* diameter of the tool holder where the actual tool will fit inside of? I had assumed it means the outside diameter and could not understand why this was significant. (Sorry Andi I don't have an answer to your q...

What is "Shank Maximal(Minimal) diameter"?

Hello, I'm using the Machining Component Wizard to define a toolholder. I am a bit confused about the fields which are requested below. Questions: 1. What is a "Publishing" 2. For the attached screenshot, what is Shank Maximal diameter? a, b, c, d, or e? 3. For the attached screenshot, wha...

Re: TopSolid Update: Unable to connect to update server

I'm not sure if this is what the solution is, but after doing these steps it worked:

1. Using setup.exe uninstalled everything (including TS Update)
2. Deleted the TopsolidPDM folder
3. Restarted my machine
4. Ran setup.exe again

And now its working.

Opening ports for TopSolid'Server installation

Hello, To install TopSolid'Server the installation guide says to open ports 8086, 8088 and 8096 on the server's firewall. I am double firewalled - that is, I have a firewall which runs on the server itself as well as a Cisco firewall at my internet service provider where all traffic to or from the ...

Re: TopSolid Update: Unable to connect to update server

Hi Bill,

Thanks for your check list:-

-Windows Firewall - its off
-I ran TS'Update with TS closed, same result
-I uninstalled absolutely everything, including TopSolid update

I thought for sure I was going to find an answer in your suggestions, but I'm afraid not. Thank-you though.

Re: TopSolid Update: Unable to connect to update server

Hi Remi,

I don't have a proxy and there is nothing set for the proxy. I checked the other machine on the network where TopSolid update does indeed work - - the settings are exactly the same - that is - no settings for a proxy.

Thanks Remi but my problem is still not solved :(

Re: Machining - templates not availible

Hi Brian,

Mmm... it may well be although I don't at all remember seeing any option to deselect the installation of templates. I need to do a reinstall in the next few days and will double check then.

Out of interest, do you have templates in any of the machining template folders?
