Re: deactivation of subsets
Thank you for the feedback/tips. I found out deactivation has it's quirks and it works like this: assembly1 (open document) assembly2 (deactivated in assembly1) assembly3 When assembly2 is deactivated, it shows in the tree, but it (and it's content) is still visible in 3D assembly3 does not look lik...

deactivation of subsets
I'm working on a closet with a variable amount of bodies (1-4) All of the bodies are in different in-place subsets. I seem only to be able to deactivate specific assemblies, and deactivating an assembly does not seem to effect nested assemblies. In order of prefference I would like to know: 1 - Is t...

Re: library verification error: "file outside any library"
Hi Todd,
Thank you for your reply. My example wasn't meant to be specific though, because this appears to be the case for all referenced files.
Good to know though. It seems worth considering storing these tools on a shared drive.

Won't you look at that.
It's almost the half year anniversary of me stating that "giving feedback to Missler feels like talking to a wall"...
How meta.

library verification error: "file outside any library"
When I verify my libraries I'm getting errors like these: L:\70 - Componenten\Achterwanden\Achterwand#V=groef L+R#I=00#R=NR.top WARNING: references a file outside any library : $STD=TopSolid'Wood\wood tool\mill#V=simple mill#I=01#R=NR.top All mentioned components are inside a library though, but Top...

Re: .cat files and supplier codes
Ok, so i got the documentation, which describes how to implement drawers, and automatically get the correct drawer runner and machinings when the drawer length changes. What I want to know though, are the basic principles behind supplier code and .cat files. Which I find hard to deduce from the draw...

Re: Expressions, how they really work
fair point, the expressions available are quite limited and sometimes you're going to have to make do. If the num values are only ever 1 or 0 you could replace num_1==1 with just num_1 and keep the same functionality. Personally I would probably split this up in two and something like this: chosen_p...

Re: Expressions, how they really work
... Usually they are up to 20 characters long, but in some cases they can be more than 400 characters :) ... I would try to avoid that. Having to figure out how a 400 character expression works is quite hard, even if you're the one that has made it. Not to mention having to figure out why it breaks...

Hi, I didn't find the help file very useful for experssions, I've rewritten it for how they really seem work in v6.20 Definitions: true not 0 false 0 Functions PI 3.1415926535897932385 COS(x) Cosine of x degrees SIN(x) Sine of x degrees TAN(x) Tangent of x degrees ACOS(x) Arc cosine of x degrees ASI...

Why should we bother providing feedback?
Excuse the bluntness, but except for the HTTPS thread it's been years since anyone connected to Missler has replied to something posted in the Suggestions and Enhancements subforum. Do you want feedback? Do you want to engage with your users? Right now it feels like Missler says: "You have feed...

change top.cfg encoding to UTF-8
Apparently the default encoding for the top.cfg files is UCS-2 LE BOM Git is awesome for tracking changes in text files, but cannot read the (outdated) UCS-2 LE BOM encoding. Which means I've got to manually change the encoding to see what changed every time TopSolid touches my $TOPCONFIG's top.cfg ...
