Re: manage layers in draft?
Yes, you can setup a layer filter on a view. Use the modify tool on a view and create a new filter by layer on the exceptions tab:

Re: Miterfolding
Thanks Guys, @Todd, I appreciate the detail on your procedure. I was hoping that there was some sort of built in functionality that I was missing but it sounds like the option 1 work around is normal for you? I don't have the sheet metal module so I haven't been able to try that out. It seems like u...

Miterfolding
Does anyone have know of a good way to handle miterfolding in TopSolid? It is very common for us to take one panel and run it through a miterfold machine. So in TopSolid, the panel would be designed like the top assembly shown but would need to be cutlisted and machined as a single flat panel.

Re: Dowels by curved line
Nice! It looks like you created a propagation of dowels along a driver curve, is that correct?

Re: deactivation of subsets
I made the mistake of trying to build everything in one assembly drawing and split it up with inplace subassemblies with my first library. Not the way to go as Todd said. I found it best to make each component in its own file and then compile them together. If you are making a door, for example, I w...

Change Default of Trimming Tool to Hide = NO
Is there a way to change the defaults for trimming operations to not hide the tool being used to do the trim? I find that I am almost always having to hit undo a few times and change it to = NO.

Re: auto-update disabling
The disable auto update of views can help but the other thing I do in this situation often is to use "Lock Document Update" in the parent assembly before making any changes in the template. That way, none of those changes are trying to update down stream. When done making changes, just tog...

Re: Draft schematic
The one thing the video leaves out is that it only works if you add it inside of a standard component (library product).

Re: Remove Trim Operation on Group of Parts from Propagation
Todd, Thanks for the suggestion. I hadn't considered using serial copy in this instance. I will have to think about that. I am trying to balance between a robust model I can easily manage changes on and the fact that this is a one time project (interior of a performing arts center) and I may not eve...

Re: Remove Trim Operation on Group of Parts from Propagation
Todd, Because each part of the repetition is being trimmed to a different length/shape. If I trim the template, they are all trimmed identical to it. (Left hand side of the pic shows the trim line of each rib).

Re: Remove Trim Operation on Group of Parts from Propagation
The best that I can do right now is adjust the sketch curve where it is no longer trimming the parts. That "removes" the trim but doesn't break it. If there is another way to do this, I would really appreciate some insight!

Re: Remove Trim Operation on Group of Parts from Propagation
Is there any easy way to select all the errors? When I delete the curve, it creates an INVALID ELEMENTS SET but I will have to expand and delete each trim...

Remove Trim Operation on Group of Parts from Propagation
I made a trim to a propagation of parts using the "sweeping curve" option. Is there anyway to undo the trim later on without having to manually remove each trim on each individual part? Annotation 2019-12-05 104005.png Is there a better way to make a "trim" to multiple parts like...

Re: 3D mouse
I have the basic 3D Spacemouse with the two programmable side buttons and setting up shortcuts in TopSolid was the only way I was able to make use of them and I agree it was a pain. I eventually resigned myself to just using icons on the toolbars which was a big concession for me coming from an Auto...

Re: printing lable A7 on A4 paper in nesting draft
I don’t know of a way to do this with TopSolid currently but I would love to see them add this feature. I use PDFCreator which will show all the documents in a dialog and allow you to merge them at the time of creation. https://www.pdfforge.org/ I am sure there are other PDF apps that would do the s...
