Layers in pdf export
Does anyone know if it is possible to enable layers in pdf export? I know layer information is kept in dwg export, and I can then plot from the dwg to pdf with layer information, however the dwg exporter usually messes up the font and scale etc. (see my other post on the issues I have with dwg expor...

Re: Draft Copy View to new page for modification
You might want to explore the Mechanism functionality for Assemblies. 1. There you can create two groups: + Bottom group: for everything stationary + Top group: for everything that moves when die is open 2. Create a prismatic joint between the two 3. Create two configurations: + one showing the clos...

Re: Length of spline
I don't have the most elegant solution to your problem but perhaps you can try using the 'optimize' command. If you can parameterize your spline curve with a single variable x, e.g. angle of a control point 1. Create a 'Length parameter' L for the spline curve 2. Use 'Optimize Parameter' and fill in...

Problems with dwg export
I have a lot of problems with dwg export. 1. Scale gets messed up with multipage drafts I have draft documents with multiple pages. There are some views/sketches that are common to many pages. These views are not 1:1 in scale When the draft document is exported as dwg, the common views are correctly...

Re: Explicit family document
Thanks Olaio. Yes I know we can manually redirect to a different family. I was more thinking about 'batch' redirects via the the 'redirect back reference' functionality https://files.slack.com/files-pri/T06LRR2LE-F0JM5TF1N/redirect_back_reference.png?pub_secret=65c9dc77e8 Currently we can only redir...

Re: Explicit family document
Yeah I have used that for parametrically driven families. I guess I could probably try the same thing for my explicit family but I would have to recreate the explicit family instance, include it under the desired code and replace all usage under the old code with the new... Another problem I've foun...

Strange limit on Force values in Table parameter
I'm trying to create Table parameter with Force output values. TopSolid wouldn't let me put in output values greater than 1kN! A normal real parameter can take on values > 1kN. But if I try to get the table to refer to an existing real parameter with value>1kN it will still complain and fail. Anyway...

Re: TopSolid 7.8 Wizard and Process detailed tutorial ??
I would like to have detailed tutorials/guide for this too. If that doesn't happens though, I've found that one way to learn how these work is to make a copy of the existing process document, study the operation and identities tree and try modifying it. This is probably no better than what Kyle sent...

Re: BOM Document export Decimals are commas
Have you solved your problem? While I don't have the problem. It would be good to post your solutions to let others know. Perhaps it's to do with Language setting under Options->General->Language. It seems this can be set independently for different documents so you might want to check your templates.

Yeah, that's what I ended up doing yesterday after some experiment.

Explicit family document
I have an explicit family document consisting of 6 members: 3 parts, 3 assemblies. From what I can see, the family document act as a container/folder under which the explicit member are copied and placed. What's very frustrating is that I can't seem to: 1. edit and change the Code of a member after ...

Moving the PDM server to the cloud
Does anyone have experience of setting up the PDM server on a VPS? We are an Australian company with an office in China [1] . We would like to make the PDM server available to our engineer in China, but we have not been able to set up a reliable VPN connection from the PDM server residing in our Aus...
