Re: Best practices

In comparison to you questions here is what we do at my work. - all materials of library parts/laminates are generic (corpus_1 etc.) for our wood parts material and coating is set to To Be Determined and defined in the assembly where its used - all edge laminates attached to the parts we don't do a ...

Re: driver coating and finishing

I assume you don't want to use the catalog function to do this? or if you don't know about this I would suggest using the catalog to do this.
example below: Name the part to change then "."(property to alter)
Tube.refrencence
Tube.coating
Tube.matter

Re: Double wrapped driver blocks

the offset value in source file x1 and x2 for example are just place holders when inserted in the assembly where its used it will attach to the next closest parallel face to the first internal driver block automatically

Re: Double wrapped driver blocks

I like to use this for door and drawer fronts helps to already have the gaps and hinges placed and brining in vertical and horizontal dividers with the assembly screws already in them because we use blind dado constructions this way I don't need to have a driving parameter for the side thickness :id...

Re: Animate Assembly

So from what I understand from your not looking to animate it being taken apart and assembled but just want to travel around your design and present it so I would suggest looking at Assembly | Travelling is much easier I think I have not used it in a while I think you can even draw geometry for the ...

Re: Process unknown (FormUser3.frm)

Are the holes thru? are the parts duplicated or repeated? Can you share the file it would be much faster for me to trouble shoot?
attached are the design model and the cam process default associations to the hole model picked in design are both parts using the same Hole model?

Re: Process unknown (FormUser3.frm)

formUser3.frm is referring to your process you created for a feature like example: a groove, drill or pocket. From my experience you can get this when you try to use the wrong process with a operation on a part (example try to use groove process on a pocket feature).

Re: remove part-type

Part type between ( ) must be removed from there original file as it is library part the data is carried over from the template file. wrench it then select edit template and in that other file's part characteristics you can remove the part type. you may have to go deep if this is multiple sub-assemb...

Re: MOUSE Recommendations

So my suggestion to you is a 5-button mouse. forward and back button on the side as for make we use the logitect M705 or the M510, M500 for corded. Also keep in mind that the size of your hand plays a big part in the ability to easily use the side buttons. I would suggest you configure one side butt...

Re: Applied automated machining to component?

The Moulding function is not like component tooling you select the moulding function from wood toolbar then select your standards instead of TopSolid wood then select the tool you created and saved to your library and then you will see the driving parameters to the right to be altered.

Re: Nest ting multi file

"Same size, different drilling and same barcode" Just to add to this comment when numbering parts in TopSolid to identify unique parts keep in mind the limitations there are base on fields available in the BOM template. If I have two parts the same size in thick x width x length, material, coating, ...
