Re: STL Files

Have you tried the various options available during STL import? You can import these in a number of different ways (see the attached screenshot), and depending on the choice you will have more options available to edit the imported file. Once you have successfully imported the STL file, you can expo...

Re: Why should we bother providing feedback?

Hi "Q":

There is a TS user group on Slack that you might find interesting. I also wish that there was more activity on the US Forum.

Re: how do you substract one part from another

Hi Johan: Once you have created the assembly containing the parts you wish to modify, you need to make one (or more) of your parts "modifiable" (Modeling/Local Shapes/Make Locally Modifiable). After that you can use the Boolean operators (Modeling/Local Shapes/Boolean) to modify your part(...

Re: how do you substract one part from another

Hi Johan: Ah, now I see your problem. I *think* (but I'm not certain....) you will want to make an assembly document containing the part(s) you want to act upon, and then perform your Boolean operations in the assembly document. I believe that you can also trim one part with another inside an assemb...

Re: how do you substract one part from another

Hi Johan:

Yes, you will have to indicate which solid is the tool and which is your part.

Re: how do you substract one part from another

Hi Johan:

The Boolean functions are found under the Shape tab....Shape/Boolean (the Union, Subtraction, and Intersection options are found in the main dialog window).

Re: How to remove groves from surface?

Hi Michelle: It sounds like you're on the right track generally, but this can be a little "finicky" sometimes depending on the geometry you have to work with. Sometimes you have to do this in several steps, instead of all at once....I can't tell if there are fillets on the groove edges or ...

Re: Machining - templates not availible

Hi Michelle:

Just a guess (and perhaps this has already been resolved?): is it possible that you have uninstalled/deleted some of the templates during your previous "cleanup" of your install?

Hi Michelle:

I just sent you a reply to your PM-sorry for the late response. I think I may have hosed up something with my PM settings-not sure. I will assume "operator error" for now-LOL!

Hi Steven, Reordering of operations is quite easy...highlight the operation(s) you want to copy/move, hit CTRL-X (standard Windows command for "cut"), or CTRL-C ("copy"), then highlight the operation in the ops manager that you want to paste *after*, and hit CTRL-V ("paste&q...

Manuals...check your install DVD for PDF copies of manuals..

Hi Stephen, If you can locate your manuals, they have some fairly useful tutorials. The manuals are also available on the install DVD as Adobe Acrobat files ("PDF's"). They are probably good enough to get you started, but as with most any s/w these days, they don't cover *everything.* As I...

Hi Stephen, The Model Tree in TopSolid'Cam functions in the same way as in TopSolid, and you can access it in the same way-click on the left edge of the viewport. (Have you used the tree in TopSolid?). If you can tell me exactly what you're trying to do I can probably get you headed in the right dir...
