Re: Why should we bother providing feedback?

Won't you look at that.

It's almost the half year anniversary of me stating that "giving feedback to Missler feels like talking to a wall"...

How meta.

library verification error: "file outside any library"

When I verify my libraries I'm getting errors like these: L:\70 - Componenten\Achterwanden\Achterwand#V=groef L+R#I=00#R=NR.top WARNING: references a file outside any library : $STD=TopSolid'Wood\wood tool\mill#V=simple mill#I=01#R=NR.top All mentioned components are inside a library though, but Top...

Re: .cat files and supplier codes

Ok, so i got the documentation, which describes how to implement drawers, and automatically get the correct drawer runner and machinings when the drawer length changes. What I want to know though, are the basic principles behind supplier code and .cat files. Which I find hard to deduce from the draw...

Re: Expressions, how they really work

fair point, the expressions available are quite limited and sometimes you're going to have to make do. If the num values are only ever 1 or 0 you could replace num_1==1 with just num_1 and keep the same functionality. Personally I would probably split this up in two and something like this: chosen_p...

Re: Expressions, how they really work

... Usually they are up to 20 characters long, but in some cases they can be more than 400 characters :) ... I would try to avoid that. Having to figure out how a 400 character expression works is quite hard, even if you're the one that has made it. Not to mention having to figure out why it breaks...

Expressions, how they really work

Hi, I didn't find the help file very useful for experssions, I've rewritten it for how they really seem work in v6.20 Definitions: true not 0 false 0 Functions PI 3.1415926535897932385 COS(x) Cosine of x degrees SIN(x) Sine of x degrees TAN(x) Tangent of x degrees ACOS(x) Arc cosine of x degrees ASI...

Why should we bother providing feedback?

Excuse the bluntness, but except for the HTTPS thread it's been years since anyone connected to Missler has replied to something posted in the Suggestions and Enhancements subforum. Do you want feedback? Do you want to engage with your users? Right now it feels like Missler says: "You have feedback?...

change top.cfg encoding to UTF-8

Apparently the default encoding for the top.cfg files is UCS-2 LE BOM Git is awesome for tracking changes in text files, but cannot read the (outdated) UCS-2 LE BOM encoding. Which means I've got to manually change the encoding to see what changed every time TopSolid touches my $TOPCONFIG's top.cfg ...

set layer colour and/or transparency

Is there a way to set a colour/transparency for a layer?
Desired result:
- Switching to a layer switches the design colour/transparency to the layer preset
and/or
- Placing an object in a layer changes it's colour/transparency to the layer preset

export BOM and/or Cutlist to excel using script

I'm looking for any and all resources regarding scripting. Specifically to facilitate exporting a BOM and/or a cutlist to excel.

(assuming one needs scripting for this to work)

Thnx.

Re: parameter suggestion drop-down list

I discovered there is a drop-down menu in the semi-transparant box that appears when you select a dimension. It replaces the entire content of the dimension. This can be used to check the existing names and add them in when you're using just that value. Although this helps, I think it could be more ...
