Tool choice based on material thickness
I would like to set my processes so that if I am cutting mdf that is thinner that 1/4" it uses a downcut bit to cut it out and if its thicker use a compression bit. I am running a Biesse machine so it references the tool name to call a tool in the program. I was thinking that if I entered somet...

Pocketing a small through hole
Is it possible to define a machining operation on a through hole that was created using "pocketing" so that the scrap can be eaten up and not bounce around the table when nesting parts? Or is it possible to define a specific strategy for cutting out an appature that will be recoginzed as s...

Nesting questions
I am wondering if there is a way to default to "FLAT BOM" and update the machining face turned "ON" when I open the nesting tab.
Once it a while I forget to change it and it causes problems.

Re: The first machining face was revert when nesting
Your picture shows that you have it forced to that position on the machine.
You can either turn it to optimized or force it to be flipped from what it is now.

Re: MOUSE recommendations
Even better than the standard spacemouse is the Spacemouse pro or the enterprise. It will save you more time than you will think after you set up the keys for different functions. You will have a month where you hate it then you won't be able to work without it. My biggest complaint is I don't do we...

Re: Nesting modification
Recently another issue popped up for me.
Before when nesting parts the coating wasn't considered. Now when I nest different coatings go to different supports. Is there a way to go back to the way it was?

Re: Managing cutting conditions
I have only ever set them for each tool. It's the way I find most reliable as I can set the rpm and chipload of the tool and let TS take care of the feedrate calculations. I think through the equipment menu you add complexity that you don't really need. The menu option doesn't take into account numb...

Nesting modification
With the newest version we are able to nest multiple materials in the same file. If I go to modify the nesting descriptor it will not output more than one material. Any suggestions on what I am doing wrong or is that a bug?

Graphics card
It's looking like it is time to replace my laptop. I am trying to decide if I should buy a system with a Quadro t2000 4Gig card or the RTX 2060 4Gig gaming card. All the other specs are pretty much the same.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Indexing
It would make the quantity 1 on each line of your BOM but you could try adding the element identifier in the BOM so each part is unique. It doesn't have to be displayed just part of the BOM.

Re: biesse rover a post exporting problem
I hope you got this solved long ago but if not. I am not positive but I would guess it is an issue with your post thinking that the origin points are in different places than they are. Instead of mounting your sheet against the front stop (my biesse is #5 for the front stop and #1 for the back left ...

If you make the cut on one side and keep both parts then cut the other side it works.

Re: Require Edge Total Running Meter
Remember to use the overlength value and set it for what your bander wastes with each trim if you are needing an accurate amount of material used.
