Re: Entity copy
I'm not sure if this will help but are you in an assembly document? That allow you to do an "in place edit" to your parts and it will also update the original part files.

Re: pocketing
Ah ok. Sorry.
I'm not quite sure I understand what you're trying to do.
Pockets are usually just create a closed sketch on a body, right click the sketch, select pocket then set your depth limits.

Re: pocketing
So it's trying to cut both pockets in one operation now? and you don't want it to do that? First are you using roughing or endmilling? Endmilling with an open pocket strategy should give you what you're looking for. Just select the floor of the pocket. You could also use sidemilling with multiple st...

Re: Compound angle
You can create pivoted frames (construction/ frames/ pivoted frame) or pivoted planes (construction/ planes/ pivoted plane).

Multiple programs, Single CAM document
How do you guys generate code for multiple programs in a single CAM document? I programmed my part but the code was too long to fit in the machine. I managed to break it up into 6 programs but it won't generate code. I keep getting "Last link out is not to CTP" and "First link in is n...

Re: Projects Templates verse Document Template
Mine is pretty basic. I just added a folder named NR(No rev) and referenced the libraries that I wanted.
Bill has a few videos on the TopSolid blog where he has folders setup for parts, assemblies, customer docs and so on.

Re: Projects Templates verse Document Template
I would use a project template to reference the libraries that you want(if you dont want to use all of them). I wouldn't load your "blank" project template with CAM documents etc. Use your project template to format what you want all projects to look like. The only time I create a project ...

Re: Wire Text Font Library
This is not possible sorry :? Not trying to argue but if you go to create a wire text on a part then hit F1 in the text box it will take you to Wire Text help. At the bottom of that page there is a section named "Font creation for wire text" with a link to "Creation of a font for wir...

Re: Projects Templates verse Document Template
Q1: If I setup a company project template, will the template be able to define the following for all users who use that project template to create a project: -references to specific Libraries to be set in the template yes -various Options (eg Colours or CAM settings) to be set in the template no, t...

Wire Text Font Library
Has anyone created their own Wire Text font? So far I've copied the TopSolid font folder from the TopSolid Mechanical library into my own library then renamed the documents and edited the sketches to match Century Gothic as best I could. Updated the Family document with the Size driver and checked e...

Re: DANGER!
It does seem like this stuff is released untested sometimes but I've ran into the same thing with other softwares before too.
We only have 2 user's and only use TopSolid for CAM so our PDM is local.

Re: DANGER!
I had a part with 13 repetitions today that started as a mill document then repositioned to an EDM document. Everything seemed fine with it. So far I'm loving SP7 over SP5 ( I skipped 6 cause it broke "minimum tool length"). It seems to have fixed all the issues I was having. *knocks on wo...

Re: DANGER!
I've also noticed the the error "!" symbol pops up while configuring a hole machining but goes away after validated. I'm not sure what that's about.

Re: DANGER!
I've wrote nearly 15 3 axis mill programs and a couple 5 axis mill programs and at least 10 wire edm programs since SP7 was released. The only problem I've had was trying to replace a shape to update it to the next Rev. After SP6 I started making a restore point before I installed so I could go back...

Re: Selecting a tool and analyzing radius
Mine seems to behave exactly how you want yours too. I don't remember doing anything special to make it behave that way. I do have all my operation tabs on a different monitor than my graphics window though. Maybe all your tabs open in the same spot on your monitor which is causing one to close befo...
