Hello masters!
I have 2 simple questions:
1. We are using TopSolid+CAM with Biesse + bSolid. We need to work in ORIG5 and all parts are positioned in same way and turned over X axis. How we can do that?
2. We need to drill through holes from both sides. All of them are created in CAD from both sides (only through pockets are made from one side). How we can drill from both sides? We are using melamine and it's not possible to make good quality with through drilling.
Any help and tips are very welcome!
With Best Regards
RM

Re: Automatic CAM
so you are try to machine a 2-sided part from a different CAD system? or is the part modeled in TopSolid?

Re: Automatic CAM
Part is modeled in TopSolid and it goes to Biesse machine through Pp + bSolid. I think it's not different CAD system.
Something about this is in this doc: TopSolid.WN.2016.v6.17.Us.pdf on page 58, but no glue how to use it.
One thing more: how to control open pocket. When I cut edgebanded detail, then tool must go in left-handed or right-handed way to avoid destroying edgebanding. I think one option is to make two different contours which cover each other away from edges. Then one tool will cut from right side and second tool from left side. How to make it, no idea.

Re: Automatic CAM
I can't help with your drilling problem on both sides. I can recommend a solid carbide drill with a thru point.
Routing an open pocket through edging can be done with user machining, and a pocket. You can go one step further, and get a high shear router bit. We have been using these for a while now, and they work. I route 3 and 2mm edging from both directions. No problems. See Youtube video:
