Unread post by Viktor Havlicek »

Ciao NG
is there a way to get persisten snap (something like in attachment?) Persisten snap would save up menu's jump.

Thanks.

Hi,

That is not possible in TopSolid. The concept is a bit different.
TS has an Auto-snap on end points, mid points, intersection. ...
If you need a "special" point you can get it with the specific function. It does more just let you snap to points, you can also create specif points (offset, ...)

Pieter is right,

Almost all the attachments you are asking for already exists in TopSolid...I strongly recommend you to go in Tools | Options and ask for the Middle points in Picking...

Perpendiculer is existing, tangent is on automatically if you are drawing a line to a circle, center is ok with the rotative picking...left click and drag to an intersection....a lot of thing can be done...;-)

Hallo NG
Thank you for your reply.
Ok, I can use TS snap. Attachment was not showing snap typology (offset, tangent, ecc) but persistency.
Example: Circle three points: attachment shows blue circles. There is no point center (this draft comes from .top). Circle must go through their centers.
TS says: 1)curve\other curves\circle\circle 3points, 2)snap\center, 3) selection, pick three circles (their center point appears) then click on circle center points. With persistency, phase 2) wouldn’t exist.
But of course, TS is TS and his snapping modality is not like other 3D software.
Regards.

Hello Viktor,

Instead of snap center, please just try to use this way:

1)curve\other curves\circle\circle 3points
2)right click on the circle, you get the center

could it be useful for you?

Hi,

A little remark on what Jehronimo said:
2)toggle on the circle and TS will select the centre point.

So if you LCLICK on the circle, you new circle will be tangent, if you keep your mouse on the circle, and toggle (keep LMB pressed, while clicking with RMB) TS will "jump" to the centre.
