[Solved] bak Files

Unread post by AndiKS »

Hello

Is there a Way to deactivate the BAK-Files?

Each time I save my TOP- or CAM-File TopSolid save the old state as BAK-File, if we work on big files (up to 300 MB) this is very expensive...

Hi,

I think that there is no way to deactivated the bak files creation.
But, i think that you are compressing the files when saving!
So, you can choose the option to save the file in binary format, the time to save will be significantly less, but the file size will be much bigger!
To do that, go to:
File->Properties->General->File format
Attachments

Hi,

If you want to desactivate BAK file generation,

Edit your TOP.CFG file and enter the following : :arrow:

U_DOC_MAXBACKUP 0

Restart TopSolid,

Note : don't forget to add a tabulation between the keyword and the number.

Thanks to let us know further,

See you
