tapping holes with components

Unread post by Aaron A »

Hi Everyone,

Here's my quandary: I have designed a library of components, and for the sake of saving time I would like to use preplaced screws in the components but there are a few downfalls when doing this and I was just wondering if anyone knew a good way to do it. I would like the screws to show on the BOM, and for them to tap into the face the component was added to - a tapping tool for the component. It would be nice but not necessary if the screw size could be changed in the excel document somehow.

Great thanks to those who respond with helpful hints,
Aaron Aalbers

P.S. and thanks to those who view as well!

Dear Aaron,

I'm not sure if I understand you well. So correct me if i'm wrong:

You have defined standard coponents. Now you want to ad them in an assembly and for let's say a bolt you want it to drill and tapp the holes which the component is attached on? This you can difine just like the standard components who are within TS. You can use these as an example.

Hope I have helped you with this

Hi,

Like Daniel said, you can add processes to you component.
To be able to choose wich bolds, define the bolds in you component as sub-component.
