I would like to limit calculation area for a given toolpath.
I don´t know how to precisely grab surface to precisely position calculation limits.
Is it possible?
Thanks

Are you talking about picking boundaries for Roughing and such?

If you go to your Geometry tab you can pick your X, Y and Z min/max if you want a square boundary. If you need a different shape you can enable Bounding curves management( at the bottom of the Geometry tab) then draw a sketch or use existing edges to create a boundary.

Hello Billetgrip,
Your suggestion is good but I´ve being wondering...
We have handles to set limits. It should work...
Besides I am always trying to find a quicker solution and with less mouse clicks.
And to reduce number of mouse clicks in TopSolid is something that can be (or should be) done.

Hi all,

If you are doing 3d machining, you could also use contact surface management. It works with Raster and Z level finish.

You can find it in the geometry options on the Additional Surfaces tab. Activate Contact surface management and select the faces to machine. The software will apply the tool path only to those faces.

I would also play with learning the different boundary sketch tools that you can find in the Additional Tab | Geometry section. They are fast and easy to use tools to create boundary profiles with.
