"Boolean operation failed"?

Unread post by Robert »

I'm making a simple curved rail for a door, and I keep getting "Boolean operation failed" what would be causing that failure on a simple curve like the one on the attached image.

Thanks for any input?

Hi Robert,

It seems to be a tangency problem, but what is the operation you are trying to do? A triming one?Can you send a file?

....another "Boolean operation failed" please see the attached TS files and images. Does anyone have any suggestions about making curved componets that will not fail when you apply molding operations to them?

Thanks

Robert sometimes there are problems to calculate this type of geometry, this has something to do with the Parasolid kernel. if you are having this problem you can change the X dimension value by a very small amount for instance .001 (statistically insignificant) you might have noticed that other molding profiles from the library will not have this error, generally you may have this on larger profiles
