Hi,
I'm not sure what do you mean.
Part types are stored in top.cfg file (usually top.cfg is in C:\Missler\Config or ....\GroupConfig).
This is a text. Something like this:

D_PROPERTY_PREDEFINED_TYPE Panel
D_PROPERTY_PREDEFINED_TYPE Equipment
D_PROPERTY_PREDEFINED_TYPE Wood
D_PROPERTY_PREDEFINED_TYPE "3D model"
D_PROPERTY_PREDEFINED_TYPE Fittings
D_PROPERTY_PREDEFINED_TYPE Metal
D_PROPERTY_PREDEFINED_TYPE Plastic
D_PROPERTY_PREDEFINED_TYPE Glass
With best regards,
Vladimir

Thanks Todd and Vladimir,

The thing is, I went from 6.17 to 6.18
I copied the config and group config, but the parts didn't came along.
So I'm trying to find out were they are saved.

Hello,

If you have back-up from 6.17 CONFIG folder - you can compare old top.cfg file and new one.
Look for strings "D_PROPERTY_PREDEFINED_TYPE ........."

Usually, this type of data migrates automatically.
With best regards,
Vladimir

These type's I can find but those are part of my Filters
I'm also looking for the predefined names.

So when installing a new TopSolid and you have an old version best practice is to make the new versions config and group folder a different name
so did you find your top.cfg file for 6.17 or did your overwrite it?

Hi Todd,

I always do it like you say.
But I never knew I had to add the predefined names in that place like Vladimir showed.
I tried it and the it works, still I can't copy the other ones because they were added the wrong way.
No problem I type them over for now, next time it will be good.

Had contact with our software supplier, it was very simple.
The Predefined properties are there for those who don't have the Wood-module.
There advice: Just check out your old config. Click > Help > Configuration > TAB TopSolid'Wood
As you can see I'm using TopSolid'Wood so my .cfg is in topzwoo.cfg 8)

Thank you for this information. Now it is clear for me.
And so, there are two independent PART TYPEs:
- first is in Tools/Options/TS'Wood configuration/Bill of materials/Part types (data is stored in topzwoo.cfg)
- second is in Tools/Options/Predefined properties/Predefined part types (data is stored in top.cfg)

These "Part types" are independent and we can use both for part definition and multikriterial filters and so on.
You use the first and I use the second. But predefined part types migrate automatically.
With best regards,
Vladimir
