Enable Grid?

I'm using the curve tool to make 3 point circles and I want to make freestyle mirco adjustments to the curve so I go to modify element tool click on the coordinate and un-check the "Enable Grid". When I try to make adjustments it is still snapping to some type of grid system. My old version of TS when I unchecked "Unable Grid" it would remove all snapping function, in the latest version of TS it does not? any suggestions?
