are you using the edge function to take off the thickness of the edge banding?

I model a single part, 20" x 10" x .75", the part has some drill holes on it . I put 1 long 3mm edge on the part using the edge function. It is cut oversize on a panel saw. It is going to be sized on a double end/edgebander. Now I need to drill the part on a CNC finished size. The only way I have found to get the finished size CNC program is to remove the edging.

Have you tried using the edge shape in oversize on the cutting up tab of the define part. note you also have to have set up your edge function properly for this too work.

Hey Todd,

I have tried what you are suggesting, and my edging was set up by Olivier. Turning off the tool will give the result I am looking for. Problem is I can't find a way to modify it once the edging is applied. I would want to show the edging normally, but then turn off the tool to export if I wanted finished size. It looks like I need to use the panel function and in the advanced options select rough for the design for edges to get an output with the edging. Just will have to toggle it from rough to finished as needed.

Todd, are you using 6.16 yet?

yah I dont like the edge function myself we stopped using it here because it's too old of a function and causes too many cyclic ref's when used in complex designs. but I did like my edges auto labeled for edging when we multi-drafted the parts. but our edgebander cuts off the thickness of edge banding also so we did not need the edge function to tool the shape for CAM/calibration either. but if you dont tool the shape you dont get a lable when you multi-draft so the function had no use for us
