Advice on Desktop for collision simulations 5 axis

Unread post by rovake »

Hi all, Have any one a clue wath machine will give us the best performance for simulations! We tried a lot, but always ended up with problems for Hypertheading, or that windows XP only uses 2 GB memory.

Now we have Windows 7, able to adress more Memory to Software, but the proccessors use hyperthreading and CAM only uses one thread for its proces (1/7 of its capabillities).

Biggest problem now is the simulation time, somethimes more than 1 day, if the computer didn't end the program.

Now we are running the simulation on Dell Vostro:
Intel Core i7 2800 Mhz, Nvidia GeForce GT220 and 4GB memory W7 64bit

For all processes of TopSolid great, only CAM is our BUG end eats time away. Help on a system will be apriciated.

What system will do our simulations Quicker :
Intel 2 Duo E8600 2x 3333 Mhz
Intel Core i3 540 Clarkdale 2x 3066 Mhz
Intel Core i5 670 Clarkdale 2x 3466 Mhz

suggestions regarding : Mohterboard and Memmory?
