spindle rpm always 9999, WHY ?

Unread post by Top'Noob »

Why is the spindle RPM always 9999 ?

Ideally I would like to be able to assign a maximum spindle rate for each of my machines but I have no idea where to adjust this...

Searching in help leads me to believe the setting comes from TopTool but I don't see it. :?

Hi,

Oeps, aparently it only works in WoodCAM.
WoodCAM doesn't use TopTool, but a reduced database.

I suppose the solution has to be found in TopTool.

Hi,

in the machine definition you can define the maximum spindle RPM.
Look in - equipments - machine - modify locally then in axis list, to check if exist the MAX_RPM (spindle axis). If yes, change the value, if no try to define your own one.
Like that:
in add rot, you can choose spindle axis and put there your max-RPM value.

Please note, you can't modify current cam files, only new one after this modification one your "database machine".

:?

Either I did something wrong or this doesn't seem to work...

Tool still comes from TopTool with S9999 and max feedrate. I even made an operation and posted it but it posts with S9999 also.
