How to change tool starting position for simulation
Hi there, I'm busy working through the TopSolid 2D Mill Tutorial . One aspect which is different on my TopSolid is that my Tool has a starting position which is very far away. I thought perhaps it would be a matter of clicking on the "programming simulation mode where only the tool is represent...

Displaying tool by hovering over part
Hi there, If you click on the below link and watch the next 5 seconds of this TopSolid Tutorial you'll see that the tool which is currently being built becomes visible. Whilst I have all the settings windows open and can follow those step by step, my tool however does not become visible when I hover...

Re: Machining - templates not availible
Hi Olaio, Thank-you for your reply. If I double click on say the "Imperial Folder" (or any other folder) nothing happens. As in, I do not see any templates within the folder. So... are those then just folder structures for me to build my own machining templates and there are none which shi...

Machining - templates not availible
Hi there,
Although I can create a new machining document with a "Blank Template" as soon as I select any other template (as shown below), the green check mark disappears. Could anyone suggest as to why is this is occuring and how I can get it working?
thanks
Michelle

Re: How to orientate auxiliary view
Thanks very much Olio and Bill.
(Bill I was using an ISO template... I had no idea they would differ in projected angles.)
Thank you both, my problem is solved!

Re: Can I uninstall MSFT SQL Server on my PC
Thanks Bill. All of the SQL programs- if you look at the installation date all those SQL programs will installed with TopSolid. When I installed TS on a second machine and the result was the same. That is, a whole lot of SQL programs were installed - all of those which are highlighted. To uninstall ...

Re: Can I uninstall MSFT SQL Server on my PC
Hi Bill, Thank-you very much for your thorough reply. Yes local PDM server sure does look cool, but really we won't use it. If our intended maintenance period covers this time frame I would be happy to install all the SQL programs needed for for 7.12 then. Also, I'm sure the SQL tools themselves wil...

Re: How to orientate auxiliary view
I got a work around which "works"... just not sure if I'm supposed to do it or not: WORKAROUND SOLUTION: What I did for the shaded part was to create another MAIN view rather than an Auxiliary view and set the Orientation to "Perspective Camera" (and without a checkmark in the &q...

What are the Mechanical, Machining, NC Machines etc libraries for?
Hi there. Sorry for all these questions. I must be the only person in the entire global English speaking TopSolid community needing the answers to such basic questions, either that or everyone else is too shy to ask. Anyhow - When I installed TopSolid I was asked if I wanted to import libraries. I c...

Info: How to move your local PDM
Hi there, This took me a while to figure out so I thought it may be useful to someone else. In my case, TopSolid automatically created my local PDM on my H: drive which is actually a location on the company Server. For performance reasons I needed to move my PDM back to my local computer, that is to...

Re: Can I uninstall MSFT SQL Server on my PC
Okay, I answered my own question as I uninstalled everything related to SQL SERVER and TopSolid works fine. After I unisntalled everything I opened up TopSolid and made sure I could open a previous project and I also checked a new project in. No problems were found. SOLUTION: 1. If you don't intend ...

Re: Can I uninstall MSFT SQL Server on my PC
Thanks Remi (again) for your reply! I tried running setup.exe to unistall Microsoft SQL Server but unchecking SQL Server automatically unchecks CAD, CAM and Interop. If you also agree that this is a bug please bring it to the attention of your colleagues at TopSolid. Here's a little video for them s...

Re: Is it a bad idea to have my local TopSolidPdm on the company Server?
Okay thank-you. I've tried to move the PDM to my local C: drive but I'm having problems with it. I'll post a separate thread to ask how to move my PDM.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
