Is it a bad idea to have my local TopSolidPdm on the company Server?
Hello, The way the computers on my network are setup is that everything which is located in "My Documents" actually resides on our Server instead of on each individual machine. So if my local "TopSolidPdm" folder was placed into MY Documents, it would actually be sitting on the s...

How to orientate auxiliary view
Hi there, I often come across this problem so I am sure I am missing some fundamental understanding when it comes to drafting (or perhaps frames). I need to orientate my shaded part in the same way as on the right hand side shaded drawing. The problem is, no matter where I move my cursor when trying...

Re: Best way to uninstall redundant tooling libraries
Hi Remi, Thank-you for your quick reply. I am busy following your instructions however just before I go and uninstall TopSolid'Tooling I would like to check my understanding if you would not mind: Q1) Are all the yellow highlighted Libraries below 3rd party Tooling libraries, so if I don't use these...

Best way to uninstall redundant tooling libraries
Hello, I installed the below options for TopSolid as shown in the first picture below. I do not use DME Inch, Futaba, Hasco, Meusburger etc tooling. Could someone please tell me how do I go and unistal these? Should I re-run the setup.exe file or should I just add/remove programs as shown in the sec...

Re: How to make dialog box "float"
I know most people wouldn't want to do this but it irritated me so much that I'm just glad I managed to find a solution:
Working Solution:
Reset Application Settings as shown in the screenshot.

How to make dialog box "float"
Hi there, I'd like my dialog box to "float" as shown in the green boarded screenshot. I've tried to play with the drawing pins to get this to work but I haven't been able to figure it out. Could anyone please advise me how to get the dialog box to float ontop of my sketch such that it is n...

Re: Are Part > Properties disabled for the trial version?
Oh I plan to ask LOTS of questions so if you are up for answering them Julian we can make it a very busy forum! haha.
Brian - thanks very much for the note you sent me - very useful! - I tried to reply to you but I think your inbox is too full to accept new messages.

This seems to be a very quiet forum - I'm beginning to think I must be the only one with TopSolid questions!!

Are Part > Properties disabled for the trial version?
Hello, I went to edit the Properties of a PART which I just created and all fields are greyed out (see screenshot). Additionally Tools > Material & Coating fields are also blanked out. Is this functionality disabled for the trial version of TS? Not to worry, I see I can edit these values via Ent...

Re: How to change Project units?
For anyone else who ever gets stuck on this: Even if you import a project whose units are Imperial, if your TopSolid is set to Metric units by default then every new Document (Part or otherwise) will default to Metric. Two ways of fixing this: Permanent fix for all documents which are added to the p...

You know thinking about it Daniel I had no idea this forum even existed. It was only after extensively using the forums for another software program that I thought of looking for the TopSolid forum. In fact the company I work at has been using TopSolid for well over 5 years and no one knew at all ab...

Why is this forum so quiet?
I'm wondering why this forum is so quiet when there's obviously a large user base for TopSolid. Perhaps there's a more active forum in french? Or perhaps it's because this forum setup is a bit 'clunky'... or that the "notify me when a reply is posted" does not work. Anyone know of another ...
