Deformation exists in TopSolid 7. It is in the shape tab. If you go to the drop down menu and then Other Operations, you will find the deformation function. This function lets you bend, roll, twist... a shape. If you are looking for surface control point modifications, then no, that doesn't exist ye...

Dual measurements

Hi Daniel, In v6, I am not sure about this feature. Maybe it is an improvement that is coming. I will check for your. However in TopSolid 7, it already exists (from the beginning I think). In the image included you can see that I have made measurements in both metric, and in inches. You can toggle b...

HI, For item 1.... Just use rotative selection on the profile. This will allow you to select just the single segment instead of the entire profile. (Rotative selection = hold left mouse button down and tap the right mouse button. Then let go). For item 2....Drag and drop is great! But you can also c...

Hi, You can also check in the Tools | Options | General section if you have the option "No partial loading of the documents" checked or not. If it is not checked, TopSolid will only load the visual reprentations (lite weight). If it is checked, it loads alot more. Also, are you running in ...

Hi there, After checking in, you need to Validate the design. This is because you are in a library. The act of Validating closes the major revision and then makes that object available to all. I will try to make a video in the future for this. So many videos to make...not enough time in the day let ...

HI, Here are some things that you can check: 1) When you designed your tool, did you assign the proper funcitons to it? 2) once you have designed your tool and applied the functions, did you check in the tool to the PDM? 3) If the tool is in a user defined library, have you included a reference to t...

HI there, I can think of two possible ways to do this. 1) Create a new assembly file, and then drag each of the existing assemblies into it and constrain them accordingly. I am not sure if the compare and replace function will work on a full assembly. so you might need to do it manually with collisi...

Hi Daniel, Great job! I have created a small project in TopSolid 7 to show you how to create a flame. It is attached. Basically I created: 1) A sphere that I cut in half and then removed the planer face so it is a surface. 2) An offset plane which I put a small free circle on 3) A final point of the...

To the best of my knowledge this is used to be able to put a larger radius into the an inside corner. See the included pictures. In Pic1.jpg I left it at the diameter of the cutter. In pic2.jpb I added a larger value. I went from .375in to 1.0in or 9.525mm to 25.4mm. As you can see it increased the ...
