Re: from curve to formula to extruded shape
Dear TopSolid forum, I am new to the TopSolid environment and want to implement some complex shapes in TopSolid. One of the things that I try is to define a shape with curve to formula. So I define two simple curves that touch each other. Then complete it to a closed shape with a 2D sketch. When I ...

Re: how do you substract one part from another
And how do I indicate that? notool.jpg I don't see that option. notool2.jpg Hi I see the problem. You designed each shape as separate parts. So to use them as booleans you would need to assemble them, make an assembly neighborhood out of them, and then you can do the booleans in the part doc or as ...

Re: How to grab surface to limit calculation area?
Hi all, If you are doing 3d machining, you could also use contact surface management. It works with Raster and Z level finish. You can find it in the geometry options on the Additional Surfaces tab. Activate Contact surface management and select the faces to machine. The software will apply the tool...

Re: Decimal precision
You can either modify the style for the dimension from the styles folder in the entities tree. Or you can create a new style in the same place. Styles are there to allow you to configure many different settings and switch between them with ease.
Hope this helps

Re: Opening ports for TopSolid'Server installation
Hello, To install TopSolid'Server the installation guide says to open ports 8086, 8088 and 8096 on the server's firewall. I am double firewalled - that is, I have a firewall which runs on the server itself as well as a Cisco firewall at my internet service provider where all traffic to or from the...

Re: How to change tool starting position for simulation
Hi there, First, that's a great tutorial you are doing! :D Ok, so the thing to remember about TopSolid'Cam is that it is a simulation based cam software. Even when you are using a universal machine definition. This means that there is a tool change point. On the default universal machines, the tool ...

Re: TopSolid Update: Unable to connect to update server
Hello, Please also check the Windows Firewall. If you have kapersky, I am sure this is turned off...but double check anyway. Something else to try. Run TS'Update from outside of TS. You can access it in the start | Program group. Sometimes this helps it solve the problem. When you uninstalled TopSol...

Thanks Bill. All of the SQL programs- if you look at the installation date all those SQL programs will installed with TopSolid. When I installed TS on a second machine and the result was the same. Good point Olaio!
Let's take it one further. You can generate an auxiliary view off of any generated view.

Re: Can I uninstall MSFT SQL Server on my PC
HI Again, Regarding Q1. It depends on which market you are using TopSolid in. For example, I work in the US market. Here we release it in April each year typically. The best is to reach out to your reseller to find out the schedule of release from them. Regarding Q2. You have a lot of different SQL'...

Re: Can I uninstall MSFT SQL Server on my PC
Hello Michelle, In this year's version of TopSolid 7 (7.11), it was announced to users that Microsoft has discontinued the SQL Compact edition of SQL. What does this mean? It means that for 7.11, you can continue to work with SQL Compact edition. However for 7.12 (2018 version), you will be required...
