Re: Using TopSolid with Machining Cloud

Hello, I wrote to both Machining Cloud and an advanced TopSolid user who I also asked. I'll post their answers below in case it is of interest to anyone else. I've shortened both a bit replies a little. Thanks John - please do email me which ever documents you have on Tooling. The only ones I have a...

Hello, I would like to remove these grooves from my toolholder model (imported) in order to simplify it. Usually I use a function Surfaces>Removing>(type=faces, Healtype=Cap) but here it does not work. Could anyone please suggest how to remove these grooves such that the constant diameter cylinder i...

Re: What is "Shank Maximal(Minimal) diameter"?

Hi Remi Do you mean that "shank min/max diameter" actually refers to the *INNER* diameter of the tool holder where the actual tool will fit inside of? I had assumed it means the outside diameter and could not understand why this was significant. (Sorry Andi I don't have an answer to your question) T...

Re: TopSolid Update: Unable to connect to update server

I'm not sure if this is what the solution is, but after doing these steps it worked:

1. Using setup.exe uninstalled everything (including TS Update)
2. Deleted the TopsolidPDM folder
3. Restarted my machine
4. Ran setup.exe again

And now its working.

Opening ports for TopSolid'Server installation

Hello, To install TopSolid'Server the installation guide says to open ports 8086, 8088 and 8096 on the server's firewall. I am double firewalled - that is, I have a firewall which runs on the server itself as well as a Cisco firewall at my internet service provider where all traffic to or from the ...
