Whenever I create a moulding tool in the design environment (using TopSolid'Wood), how can I transfer that over to the machining environment so that TopSolid will recognize the operation and know where to pull a tool from. I’ve been tinkering with “special mill” located in the “mount tools” link in the machining enviorment. Using the “create auto” button, I’ve been able to get it to work but when I try to make another tool, the same way as I did before, it references to the previous tool that I created and overwrites it. I’ve looked on the TopSolid’Forum as well as YouTube but haven’t had any luck. Are any tutorials available? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How do I take a 2d line art scanned curve in a typical scanned format (e.g. .bmp) and bring it into TS directly and use it?

A customer has a large complex piece of wood molding they want us to recreate. I want to import this shape as a bitmap (or other scanned format) and re-create it in TS so we can chainsweep it on the CNC.

I can trace the profile on a sheet of paper and scan it as a black and white line bitmap. How do I use that to re-create the EXACT shape in TS?

I do NOT want to try to recreate the shape using a micrometer and piecing together various mathematical curves using the standard functions in TS like an arc blend, a circle, an ellipse, spline, etc. I've tried and on a complex shape it takes hours and the result is not a smooth as a hand-drawn image.

I hand-draw complex curved shapes from time to time for furniture feet or moldings and it would be great to quickly convert a scan of these into lines in TS that we can then machine.

Hello in a previous post, it was said that adding a line to post-processing iso, ini file,(#Ok_For_Operation_List_At_Start = YES) you may choose to post-processing operations, but I have the following problem, as I have TopSolid 2007, to improve performance in machining pass to 64bits, and the postprocessing operations powderalarms that does not discriminate and post-processing entire file.
It is very harmful if I take as an option on and off operations and save the file to postprocess TopSolid from outside, if a, b, c reason, I forget to record or off a serious error can occur in the machining center.
I could give a better option this last please. It is supposed that he could choose to prosecute iso operations.
attached pictures of what ocurreo.
Greetings ...

                                      ... Hello! its me AGAIN...

The above started cutting length vs Tool length debacle continues. As Christopher above suggested I can edit the Chuck distance from teh toolchanger tab.. BUT it would also appear that these changes dissappear sometime during the night, literally! Yesterday I added new tools and made the required changes. This morning as I started my work again I noticed that the "Chuck Distance" data had reverted to that which is the cutting lentgh data from "Definition" Tab.. so all of my work yesterday was gone.. (And yes I had saved several times yesterday.) I had shut down the program yesterday on several occasions and the data had remained intact.. But today all gone!??

After this latest development I made a change to a Chuck distance. saved the tool file, shutdown computer and rebooted.. and the new changed value was still there.. however all of yesterdays changes remained gone?

Its as if.. the data is saved into a temp file somewhere.. but not quite? very confusing!

I'm sure there is a txt based file where I can directly add and change the tool data? any ideas where it is.. ? This skipping about between 3 tabs to input tool data is very slow and annoying. especially when I have to do this everyday!

                                      Hi again,

there is a max rpm of 9999 defined in your machine template.
This value must be changed in the machine definition. I think it will be the best, if you contact your local reseller to do this.

It is the same for the Feedrate and the RPM of other tool units.

In TopSolid create new 'Wizard' document - when you add 'dialog node' (Read help for how to do that) - this dialog editor shows up. I don't think it can be used other way.

I keep getting an error on one computer stating "Cannot convert string to integer" when trying to create a tenon. I do not see this on the other computer I work on...any thoughts?

running 6.12.232.22

Edit: I had been making some changes to the config files, and reverted back to a previous configuration and the issue is resolved.
Gostaria de saber como posso ter maiores informações sobre o TopSolid Dialog, pois vi esse aplicativo, e creio que é possível implementar o software, sendo assim eu estou procurando saber:
>O que é
>Como usar
>Quais plataformas suporta este

P.S.: Onde encontrar o aplicativo.
C:\Missler2011\V612\bin
topdialog.exe
